How Safewire's merchants do it.

Harbour Night Market makes an entry ticket in the Safewire portal. A customer adds it to their wallet. At the door one scan verifies it and uses it up, and scanning it again is refused. Punch cards work the same way.

Straight answers

Can I use it for alcohol sales?
Not yet. In England and Wales, a digital proof of age for selling alcohol must come from a certified provider. VU is not yet certified as a UK digital identity provider. Certification is on our roadmap.
Do my guests need an app?
Today, passes go into your own app, as they do in Safewire, or into a wallet that supports the open standard. The VU app will hold them too.
What does the door see?
Only what the pass proves: that it is genuine and still valid, or that the guest is over 18. Not their name or birthday unless the pass needs it.
